Ashwagandha + Reishi
Ashwagandha is an adaptogen. Adaptogens are plants that support our ability to handle stress, keeping our body systems more balanced. Adaptogens are not a magic pill to get us out of stressful moments in our lives, but rather they can help carry us through stress with our health intact instead of stress weakening our systems. In stress-inducing scenarios, ashwagandha may prevent the over-release of the stress hormone cortisol.**
Reishi is wonderful for re-regulating the immune system by improving weak immune responses and regulating hyper-reactive immune systems that can cause allergies and auto-immune disorders.**
This tincture has been double-extracted. Mushrooms contain some constituents that are water soluble (beta-glucans) and other constituents that are alcohol soluble (triterpenes). Our mushroom tincture is extracted using a double extraction technique that involves a month long alcohol extraction followed by a hot water decoction for optimal extraction of both alcohol and water soluble constituents and has the added benefit of resulting in a shelf stable end product. The quality of a double extraction can be noted by the amount of polysaccharides visible in the water. You see this as the “cloudy stuff” in the final product. You want a lot of that! The cloudy polysaccharides only show up once the hot water decoction has been added to the alcohol, which causes an instant visual reaction. Make sure to shake your tincture very well before use, as it will have lots of particulate and cloudy stuff floating around from the polysaccharides settling out of solution from the alcohol component.
